General Notes: Husband - Charles W. Pawling

He was for a time a student in Allegheny College at Meadville, Pennsylvania, but owing to ill-health was compelled to return home before completing the course. He remained with his mother after his father's death, and finally decided to travel through the West with the hope of recovering his former strength, but while passing through the Indian Territory [Oklahoma] caught a severe cold, which caused his death.
