According to the source on the Long family, his wife, the mother of Rosanna J. Barnes, is said to have been a daughter of William and Sarah Jane (Penny) Boyd. However the compiler of this web-site believes that the dates associated with these families discredits this idea.
Handwritten notes in the Long book note that Joseph J. Long insisted that Rosanna was a cousin to her husband, a daughter of William Barnes by his wife, who was either a Boyd or a Penny.
