General Notes: Husband - James Patterson


He was one of the first settlers of Elizabeth township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. He was a farmer, and in connection with farming carried on the business of distilling. He was an active participant in the "whisky insurrection," and was held by Washington prisoner at Buena Vista for his connection with that outbreak. He had eight children, one of whom was still living in 1889.
