General Notes: Husband - Samuel F. Jackson


He was edu-cated in the common schools, and at the age of eighteen commenced to learn the cutlery trade, serving an apprenticeship of three years. He followed that business until 1881. Afterward he was in the employ of the Penn Bridge Works, and after July, 1886, held the position of superintendent. In 1887 he was elected to the town (New Brighton, PA?) council by the Republican party, and in 1886 was a delegate to the Republican state convention. He was a F. & A. M., and a member of the K. of P.
