General Notes: Husband - Abraham O. Overholt

He was reared and always resided on the farm on which he was born near West Overton, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, which he owned after his father's death. He attended the old subscription schools of the day and received a very fair education. Leaving school he gave his attention to farming and stock-raising and successfully pursued that business for nearly sixty years.

The Overholts with scarce an exception were always republicans and members of the Mennonite church.
