General Notes: Husband - William Nelson Thorne


At the age of twenty-three he engaged with Phillips Brothers, and was in their employ for nine years. In 1883 he purchased the Clinton house, and thereafter conducted the business. In 1886 he was elected a member of the borough council, and was also president of the school board. Politically he was a Republican, a member of the I. O. O. F., and an adherent of the Presbyterian church.
