General Notes: Husband - John Blair

---

He received a common school education, and assisted with the labors of the home farm from his eighth year, thus gaining a thorough knowledge of agricultural pursuits. He conducted extensive operations on the homestead farm near Irwin, Pennsylvania, and gained a reputation for progressive methods and honorable trasactions. He served as supervisor for two years during the period of the Civil war and also held the office of school director. He held membership in the United Presbyterian church, in which he was an elder for three decades. He was a Democrat in politics, and by his vote and influence always aided the candidates of that party.
