General Notes: Husband - Jesse Rupp Oller

He was born near the White Mills, in Washington township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania. The year following his birth the family removed to Quincy township, where the father was engaged in mercantile pursuits, but located in Waynesboro when he was seven years old. In this city he attended the public schools, and he spent the years of 1878 and 1879 at Juniata College, in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. During the summer he put in more or less time working in a gristmill, and then served an apprenticeship at the machinist's trade, spending three summers in the foundry, and the same length of time in the wood department. In 1880 he entered the shops as a machinist, and by 1890 was foreman of the machine department, in 1894 becoming master mechanic and assistant superintendent, continuing as such until 1900, when he was made general superintendent. He was at the time of his death discharging the duties of that position. He was also a director in the Geiser Co. for three years, and was a stockholder and director in the Waynesboro Street Car Company, known as the Chambersburg, Greencastle and Waynesboro Street Railway Company.
Mr. Oller was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He was a Republican in politics, and served as auditor of the borough for three years. Fraternally he was a member of Acacia Lodge, No. 586, A. F. & A. M., in which he was very active.
