He was a Revolutionary soldier and served throughout the war. He enlisted in Capt. John Porter's Company Aug. 1, 1775, was engaged in the Battle of Long Island, crossed the Delaware with Washington, was present at Trenton and saw service again under Capt. William Tupper and Captain Baldish.
