General Notes: Husband - Basil Sessler Newcomer

He attended school in German township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. He was both a farmer and a school teacher. For twenty-two years he taught in Georges, German, and Nicholson townships, and thus laid the foundation of a wide acquaintance in Fayette County. Later for fourteen years or more he owned the John Moser farm, at McClellandtown, Fayette County; the farm contained sixty-five acres, and he had all of it under cultivation.
