General Notes: Husband - Thomas Murray Nesbit

He was a prominent coal and ice merchant of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and the owner of several boats engaged in the transportation of these products. He had at one time been associated with his brother Irwin in the newspaper publishing business in Lewisburg. He had a reputation as an antiquarian. The Lewisburg Journal, published in April, 1892, said of his collection of the Stone Age that it was truly a wonder, and remarkable for its size, at one time outranking that of any other collector or public institution. He was a member of the Smithsonian Institute at Washington, D. C., where his knowledge of the antiquities of the Stone Age was greatly prized.
