General Notes: Husband - Robert Nelson

He was said to have been a nephew of Thomas Nelson, Sr., by his second wife, Mrs. Fannie (Houston) Tucker Nelson, widow of Mr. Tucker of Bermuda Islands, whom he married about 1721. Thomas Nelson and his first wife, Margaret (Reed) Nelson were the parents of William Nelson of Yorktown, Virginia, president of the Virginia Council and father of Governor Thomas Nelson of Virginia. Thomas Nelson, Jr. (born 1716; died 1782), married [Unk] Armistead. Thomas Nelson, Sr., born Feb. 20, 1677, at Penrith, England, was the son of Hugh and Sarah Nelson of Penrith, County of Cumberland, England. He emigrated to the Colony of Virginia in 1690 - see the Baltimore Sun, May 13, 1906.

He settled in Maryland before 1755 and before 1763 purchased from his cousin William Houston a tract of land in what is now Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

She was an aunt of Betsy Patterson, who became Mme. Jerome Bonapart.
