He came to America from Ireland at the age of ten years. He made much money with packhorses in the mountains of southeastern Pennsylvania, and finally settled in Robinson township, Allegheny County. Afterward he purchased 800 acres of land at $1.25 an acre, in Moon township, Beaver County, where he died.
