General Notes: Husband - William Murtland


He (Robert Murtland) came to Butler County, Pennsylvania, about 1803, where he resided until his death. He was a soldier in the War of 1812, and reared a family of five sons and two daughters.

He (William Murtland) was about ten years of age when brought to the United States, and when he arrived at manhood he continued his journeys to Butler County, Pennsylvania, where he cleared and improved a farmer and lived upon it until his death. He served as a private in the War of 1812; was a Democrat in politics and a member of the United Presbyterian church.

Her parents came to Pennsylvania in the same colony as the Murtlands.
