General Notes: Husband - Aaron Grant Mumma

He remained with his parents on the farm until 18 years of age, then taught school for two years, after which he attended and graduated from the Iowa Business College, at DesMoines, Iowa. After completing his business education he was employed for three years as cashier in the Aurora County bank at White Lake, South Dakota. Not being entirely satisfied with a subordinate position, he entered into a business of his own. In January, 1893, he returned to Eagleville, Missouri, and bought out the furniture business of U. S. Haufman. After conducting the furniture business two and a half years, he sold out and opened a general merchandise business in Lamonia, Iowa.
