As early as 1730 there came to Baltimore, Maryland, from New Castle, Ireland, the earliest known branch of the Morrow family to settle in America. Traveling by way of Harris' Ferry (which is now Harrisburg), they made their way to the Cumberland Valley and settled near Greencastle, Franklin County, Pennsylvania. It was from here that two brothers, Henry and James Morrow, came with their wives and families to find homes in the land beyond the Alleghenies in western Pennsylvania.
