General Notes: Husband - William Jackson Moore

He was born and reared on the home farm, which is three miles southeast of the borough of Clintonville, and attended the public schools of the vicinity, subsequently helping on the farm until his father's death, after which he took charge of its cultivation for his mother. When she passed away he bought out the interests of the other heirs in the ninety-three acres of the property which he now owns [1919], his part of the homestead including the old home. William J. Moore had previously built himself a residence on the farm, the one now [1919] occupied by his sisters Catherine and Clara. He himself lives in the substantial house which his father had put up in 1871, residing there until his death, and the barn was built in 1878. Mr. Moore learned the trade of plasterer in his early life, and has followed it to some extent in connection with his agricultural work, his mechanical skill being also very useful in the care of the buildings on the farm, which are kept in commendable order. He raises general crops, and oil has been found on his land in paying quantities, five wells producing at present with an average yield.
Mr. Moore is a leading member of the United Presbyterian Church of Clintonville, in which he holds the office of elder. He is a Republican in political principle, but he takes no active part in politics or other public matters, and has never had any ambition to undertake the responsibilities of public service.
