General Notes: Husband - Stephen McFarland

---

He went to Cincinnati, Ohio, in the early days of that city, where he engaged in business as a hatter. Subsequently he kept the "Columbian Inn." He amassed a considerable fortune, and retired to a rural residence in the neighborhood of his adopted city, but about 1820 he became seriously embarrassed in banking operations, and was reduced from affluence to poverty.
