General Notes: Husband - Henry Rice

---

He was a native of New York City, and came to Erie County, Pennsylvania, about 1833. He raised a family a ten children, eight of whom were still living in 1884. He was a prominent farmer, but eventually retired, and with his wife was living in the village of Waterford.

He was a farmer, owning a fine farm of one hundred and twenty acres, was a salesman for the Buck Eye Company, and owned the first pepper mill in that part of the country. He was a Republican in politics.
