General Notes: Husband - George Washington Scott

He was reared on the farm, educated at the country schools, and from youth up followed agricultural pursuits. He was the owner of a farm of 180 acres.
In 1863 he enlisted in the Twenty-first Pennsylvania Cavalry; enlisted a second time, and served until the close of the war in Company B, Ninety-ninth Pennsylvania Infantry, and was present when Gen. Lee surrendered.
He and his wife were members of the Presbyterian Church. He served his township as assessor, tax collector and school director. He was a Republican in politics. For several years he was an active member of the I. O. O. F.

He and his wife had eight children, five of whom survived in 1886.
