General Notes: Husband - William John Miller

His parents came to this country about 1808, and located in Jefferson township, this county, where his father proceeded to work at his trade of shoemaking, but later bought a farm.

He was born in Ireland, and was brought to the United States when eighteen months old by his parents. He grew to manhood in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and there passed his entire life. During most of his active life he was a merchant, and with his wife belonged to the United Presbyterian church.

He worked the old homestead and at the carpenter's trade until he sold the farm, when he removed to Gill Hall. He was a successful merchant for thirty years. He was a member of the U. P. Church, and was a republican.
