General Notes: Husband - Samuel F. Milford


He was born in Mercer county, Pennsylvania, came with his parents to Butler county, and lived in Marion township after 1827. He assisted in clearing and improving the old homestead, which he inherited upon the death of his father, and thereafter resided upon that farm. He enlisted in Com­pany H, Fiftieth Pennsylvania Volunteers, September 20, 1864, and served until honorably discharged, June 2, 1865. Both he and his wife were members of the United Presbyterian church, and politically, he was a Republican.
