General Notes: Husband - Richard Miles

He was the grandson of Richard, one of the brothers who came from South Wales in 1682 or 1683, and settled at Radnor, Pennsylvania.

He came from Radnor township, Chester (later Delaware) County, Pennsylvania. He visited Brush valley on an exploring tour as early as 1773, but the details in his journal are very meagre. He bought the Richard Chubb warrantee tract of his brother, Col. Miles, in 1778. This tract was the most western one of Col. Miles' surveys, in Gregg township, and owned it while he lived.

He was a captain of militia in Chester County during the Revolution.

He died December 16, 1823. [CBRCP-CCJC, 71]

General Notes: Wife - Mary Pugh

She was a member of the Society of Friends.

Notes: Marriage

She belonged to the Society of Friends, and he not belonging, an elopement resulted.
