General Notes: Husband - Conrad Metzger

He came to America from Germany with his parents when four years old, and at the age of sixteen years enlisted in the Continental army and served through the Revolutionary war. He settled in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, afterwards moved to Wayne County, Ohio, and bought a farm, upon which he passed the remainder of his life, dying at the remarkable age of 103 years. His eyesight continued unimpaired to the last, and he never wore glasses.
