Washington, Washington Co, PA

At the age of eighteen years he enlisted in the One Hundred and Fortieth Regiment P. V. I., for three years, or during the war. He partici-pated in all the battles and skirmishes of his regi-ment from Chancellorsville to Appomattox, forty-three engagements in all.
