General Notes: Husband - Daniel Nevin Pomeroy

He learned the trade of a tanner and currier, but was interrupted in his apprenticeship by the death of his father and compelled to return to the farm through family exigencies. In 1820 he began business at his trade in Shippensburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and in 1823 succeeded to the tannery that belonged to his father-in-law, John Means. He successfully conducted the business until his death.
