General Notes: Husband - Francis Watts


The Watts family were early settlers in central Pennsylvania.

He was a private in the Fourth Regiment of Light Dragoons, Colonel Stephen Moylan, in the Continental Army, and second lieutenant in Colonel Arthur Buchanan's battalion, of Cumberland County Militia, in 1777. He was captured by the Indians in their attack on Fort Freeland, July 28, 1779, but escaped the same day.
