General Notes: Husband - George Gillespie Wallace

He was educated in the old brick district school building near his home. After the death of his father he purchased all the rights of the other heirs to the homestead estate, and owned the one hundred and ninety-six acres. His father had sold a part of the farm to a coal company, but George G. Wallace repurchased it. He sold the coal to the State Line Coal Company, and it became known as No. 6 Mine. He was a staunch Republican, and served as town auditor, as justice of the peace and as school director. He and his wife were members of the United Presbyterian Church.
