General Notes: Husband - Frank Clarence McWilliams

He obtained his education in the public schools of Franklin, PA. He was first employed as clerk in a lumber yard, remaining at that work a few years, until in 1881 he entered the employ of the Atlantic Refining Company (a branch of the Standard Oil Company), whose plant at Franklin is now known as the Eclipse Works. His first duties were as errand boy for the carpenter gang, following which he became a clerk in the lumber yard, of which department he soon became foreman, being retained there for eight years. At the end of that period he was transferred to his present post, as storekeeper. In the course of his thirty-six years' connection with these works Mr. McWilliams has witnessed vast improvements in the business of producing, refining and handling oil and its by-products, as well as the changes in the region which the development of the business has brought about.
