General Notes: Husband - John McNay


He was a Scotchman by birth, and aided the colonies in their struggle for independence during the Revolutionary war. He was taken prisoner by the British and placed in a church, where he was kept three days without food. He was then released by a friend. He became quite a prominent farmer of Adams County, Pennsylvania, where he died at the advanced age of ninety-three years.
