General Notes: Husband - Thomas Harry McNary


He received his educational training in the schools of Washington, Pennsylvania, and in 1891 entered the jewelry store of A. A. Pool, with whom he learned the trade and with whom he remained about four years. He then spent some years in the same business at Wilmington, Delaware, New York City and Washington, D. C., after which he returned to Washington, Pennsylvania, in 1901, and purchased the jewelry store from his former employer, A. A. Pool. Mr. McNary was for some years the president of the Washington Board of Trade. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Washington, in which he served on the official board. In fraternal circles he was prominent in Masonry, in which he attained the 32nd degree; a member of the Blue Lodge, Chapter, Council and Commandery at Washington and the Consistory at Pittsburgh. He was one of the organizers and a charter member of the Bassett Club.
