He was just two years old when his father moved to Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, where he lived on the farm till the fall of 1884, when he went to Pittsburg on the hunt of a fortune. He remained here till 1889, when he went to Byrontown, Forest County, where he stayed till the spring of 1893. In that year he moved to Etna, where he then made his home.
