General Notes: Husband - Dr. John B. McMillan

He spent his early years on the homestead, and received his primary education in the log school house of that period. At the age of twenty-two he came to Clintonville, Venango County, Pennsylvania, where his brother, Doctor Andrew J. McMillan, had located in practice, and commenced the study of medicine in his office. In 1850 he commenced the practice of his profession. Doctor McMillan was in contin-uous practice in Clintonville for more than thirty-seven years, and was closely identified with social and material interests throughout this period. He was a stanch Republican, and a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. [HVC 1890, 997]
