General Notes: Husband - William John McLean

He and his wife were married in 1842, and at once set sail for America.
He was a carpenter, worked for a few days after his arrival in Pittsburgh, but finally settled permanently on land in Peters township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, in 1845. When he died he was owner of two farms. He was identified with the United Presbyterian Church; in politics he was a democrat.

His name would seem to indicate that Scotland had been the land of his birth. He emigrated to the United States during the first quarter of the nineteenth century and settled in Peers township, Washington county, Pennsylvania. When a young man he learned the carpenter's trade, but later engaged in farming among the large estates in Nottingham township.
