General Notes: Husband - William L. Mellon

---

He was reared on the family homestead farm and attended the common schools until he was twenty years of age. He then left the scenes of rural life and accepted a position in the bank of T. Mellon & Sons at Pittsburgh, PA, where he remained until 1886. In the fall of that year he was appointed superintendent of the Westmoreland and Cambria Natural Gas Company at Latrobe.
