General Notes: Husband - Robert McKown

In 1791 he, with his wife and children, emigrated to the United States [from Ireland?], and settled in Washington township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where for a period of seven years they lived on rented farms. In 1798 Mr. McKown bought two hundred and eighteen acres, which by the help of his sons, became in due time a productive and profitable farm. He was a soldier in the War of 1812.
