General Notes: Husband - Peter Ritner

He completed his education under Prof. Alfred Armstrong, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, came to West Pennsborough Township, Cumberland County, with his father, in 1839, and there cast his first vote for Gen. Harrison in 1840, and supported the Whig and Republican parties ever after. He remained on the farm with his father, and then purchased the place in 1856, a fine farm of 156 acres.

Beside the children listed for his second marriage, he and his wife lost three in infancy.
