Born in Argyleshire, Scotland, he emigrated to New England in 1718, and died in Londonderry, New Hampshire, in his ninetieth year, leaving numerous descendants, some of whom have been prominent in the affairs of the New England states and New York, among them Judge Levi McKean, of Poughkeepsie, New York.
