General Notes: Wife - Elizabeth McGreggor

Mrs. Molly Thompson emigrated from Ireland to America long before the Revolution, in what year is unknown, but in the war of the Revolution her son John was a man of family and property, and he was robbed of a large amount at that time. When Mrs. Thompson was about to leave Ireland her father kneeled down with her, and her boys, and prayed that the Living God would keep the widow and her children. I think his last name was McGraudy. The boys were William, John, Hugh and Robert. They were young and after getting to America, the captain of the ship they came over in, was going to sell them (as some were) but they proved that their passage was paid before they left.

Elizabeth Thompson (nee McGreggor) came to America with four sons: William, Robert, Hugh and John; the youngest of these was four years old. The youngest married Mary Huston. The oldest son may have been William. One was lost at sea, either Robert or Hugh, and the daughter of the other married Wm. Neely.
The father of the above Elizabeth Thompson, quite an old man, came with his daughter to the landing and prayed with her. She settled on the Neshameny.
