General Notes: Husband - Stephen McGirk

He was a native of County Tyrone, Ireland, and was a Roman Catholic in faith. During the troubles between the Protestants and the Catholics he was forced to leave his home to avoid persecution. For some time he remained in hiding, but finding an opportunity to make his escape to America he crossed the ocean with his family and made his home in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, where he spent many years as a successful stock dealer.
