General Notes: Husband - James McGinnis

He and his wife were born near Londonderry, Ireland, of Scotch ancestry, and for some time made their home in Belfast. On coming to the United States they located in Northumberland County, PA, but in 1803 removed to Salem township, Clarion County, where in the midst of the forest they made for themselves a home. They were Presbyterians in religious belief, and were earnest, consistent Christian people. In politics, the grandfather was a Democrat. He died at the ripe old age of eighty-seven, and his wife when seventy years of age.
