General Notes: Husband - Joseph W. McGaughey


After his marriage he engaged in farming in White township, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, for a few years, and in 1872 he came to another property in Armstrong township, a tract of 114 acres which he owned, and he was a prosperous farmer throughout his residence there.

Civil War: he served in company K, 11th Pennsylvania volunteers, for three years and five months; he was twice wounded-first at Fredericksburg and second at Chancellorsville.
