General Notes: Husband - William McGarvey

In 1830 the family immigrated to Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, where his father and mother later died. In 1850 he removed to Fairview township, Butler County, purchasing the Matthew Smith farm of 250 acres. In 1876 he settled in Fairview borough, where he died. He and his wife were members of the United Presbyterian church, in which society he filled the office of elder a number of years. He was first a Whig and afterwards a Democrat, and served as supervisor and collector of his township.
