General Notes: Husband - James McKee

He was an early settler of Indiana County, Pennsylvania, and built what was known as McKee's Mills.

He was born in Ireland and came to what is now Indiana County, Pennsylvania, about the close of the Revolutionary war. He first located at the head of Cherry Run, subsequently removing to a farm later occupied by McLain Davis, White township, and the farm owned by the McKee heirs, in Rayne, where he later died. He served as a scout for a number of years, during the Indian troubles which occurred in the latter part of the 1700s.

The McKee farm was warranted to William Todd, February 2, 1781, was sold May 2, 1791, to Andrew Sharp, whose deed to James McKee is dated May 16, 1794, though the latter had resided on the tract for about three years prior to the purchase.

It is not clear in the source which of his children were born to which of his wives.
