General Notes: Husband - Levi Oakes

He was a carpenter by trade, but chiefly engaged in agricultural pursuits. He came to Crawford County, Pennsylvania, with his father, about 1821, settling in Randolph Township, where he took up 100 acres of woodland which he cleared and improved. Both he and his wife were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

He and his wife were parents of five children.
