General Notes: Husband - William Pettit, Esq.

He came from Frederick County, Maryland, to what is now Walker township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, in 1794, to build a saw-mill for a Mr. McClellan. He concluded to make the county his home. In 1807 he removed to Bellefonte, and in 1824 was appointed register and recorder. He died at Bellefonte after a lingering illness, aged sixty-five years.

In 1785 he removed from Frederick, Maryland, to the Nittany valley in Pennsylvania, and in 1807 he settled in Bellefonte. He was appointed register and recorder in 1824.
