General Notes: Husband - John McElroy


He was born near Belfast, Ireland, and came to America in 1819. He settled first in Baltimore, Maryland, and afterward in Washington County, Pennsylvania. He moved from there in 1839 to Rural Valley, Pennsylvania, where he engaged in general merchandising. He was long an active and efficient elder in the Presbyterian church. He moved to Clayton, Illinois, in 1869, where he later died.
