He was ordained by the Presbytery of Fairfield at Summit, Iowa, August 1868; his life was that of a Home Missionary diligent and faithful and not unsuccessful. At Troy and Martinsburg, Iowa, at Larned, Thayer and Louisburg, Kansas, and in other points in Kansas he preached; later moved to Topeka, Kansas, and presumably died there.
