General Notes: Husband - William Piper

He was a captain in Col. Clayton's regiment in 1763, and served in Col. Bouquet's expedition. In 1768 he settled on the West Branch of the Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, on one of his grants from the Province for his services in the French and Indian War. The Indian forays during the Revolution drove him back to the Cumberland Valley, and he died in Peters township. He was commissioner of excise for Cumberland County, in 1778-80.
