General Notes: Husband - Jonathan J. Shanor

He was born in Connoquenessing township, Butler County, PA, upon the farm of his grandfather, John Beighley. When five years old his father removed to the farm where our subject resided, and he spent more than seventy-seven years of his life on that place, the greater portion of which time he was engaged in farming. He cultivated 200 acres until perhaps about 1890, when he sold one-half of his property. He and his wife were members of the Lutheran church of Prospect, in which he held the offices of deacon and elder. In early life he was a Democrat, but was a Republican after 1856. He filled the offices of school director, and many other minor positions.
